Frequently Asked Web Design Questions
How much do you charge for websites?
Our firm develops websites in the range of $400 for beginner sites to $5,000 and upwards for major sites with extensive shopping cart systems, flash animation, programming or highly researched search engine optimization. Many small business websites range only from $500-$3000 on average, which is less than half the industry standard.
What type of payment forms do you accept?
We accept checks, money orders and credit card payments.
My business isn't in your area, can you still build my website?
Our firm has developed websites for clients all over the United States, we can design a site for out of state clients just as easily as clients only five minutes from us.
I have a site already, but its not listed on Yahoo, MSN or Google. Why is that?
Many firms can design a website, but very few know how to achieve maximum results in getting your site listed in search engines (even the ones that claim that they can). 85%* of all Web site traffic and 70%** of all purchases online begin at a search engine like Yahoo or Google. Using our effective SEO (search engine optimization) techniques, our firm can help you achieve better rankings. Even if you have the best looking site online, it wont matter if people cant find it. If you're not on the first page of Yahoo, MSN or Google for at least one set of target keywords (practical keywords, not a search for your business name), you could be missing out on hundreds or even thousands of leads.
My (choose one) [Brother in Law / Nephew / Employee] says that they can design my site for free, why shouldn't I just let them design it?
Your business is more than likely a serious part of your life, so ask yourself something: Does the person who wants to design that site have an office, design experience, knowledge of internet marketing and web surfing trends? We have developed over 170 professional websites, we treat your business presence online as serious as we do our own. Most established design firms aren't getting their clients ranked well in Yahoo and Google, someone who isn't a full-time designer is even less likely to get you good results. Don't take chances if you want your business to grow, go with an experienced firm.
What should I be looking for when choosing a design firm?
When choosing a company to design your website, there are a number of important factors to consider. Keep these questions in mind when considering a particular firm:
- How long has the company been in business?
- Are they a member of the Better Business Bureau or similar organization?
- Do they have a large portfolio with working sites that you can visit?
- Does the company have positive client testimonials & links to their sites?
- Do they have an office, and list their physical address on their website?
- Do they have samples of how their clients rank well in search engines?
To answer our own suggested questions: We've designed over 170 sites since 2001, are members of the BBB, provide client testimonials, and can demonstrate concrete proof of how well our search engine optimization techniques work. All of our contact information and office location is available on our contact page.
How will I know if people are visiting my website? Our firm recommends a hosting company that offers a free statistics program, which can show you how many people are visiting your site daily, what sites they came from, even the keywords they typed in at Google and Yahoo to find you.
What if I need to make changes to my website?
Most of the websites we develop can be edited on software that you can purchase from retail stores. If you host with a company we recommend, you can easily make edits to your site live with no need for additional software. You can make content changes yourself, or have our designers make them for you affordably.
How long will it take to complete my site?
Most websites can be developed in two to four weeks depending on the features required. We are capable of creating a professional site in as little as 24 hours when immediate promotion is needed (there is an added fee for super rush jobs).
How long will it be before I have visitors to my website?
Typically it can take anywhere from a week to several months before the major search engines (Yahoo, MSN, Google) list your site. There are paid programs that allow you to pay a fee for immediately inclusion, yet they are not mandatory. Our goal is to get you what is referred to as "organic" results, natural and positive ranking over time without you having to pay any type of ongoing fee.
